Setting up your care circle

A care circle is your team. Learn how to create one and configure it for your family.

What is a care circle?

A care circle is the core organizing unit in Senior Support Resources. It represents everyone involved in caring for one person: family members, professional caregivers, and trusted friends. Everyone in the circle shares the same view of medications, appointments, tasks, visit logs, and health observations. Think of it as a private, secure workspace where your care team can coordinate without relying on scattered text messages, phone calls, or sticky notes. The care circle keeps everyone on the same page, even when caregivers are in different cities.

Creating your care circle

After signing up, you will be prompted to create your first care circle. Enter basic information about the care recipient: their name, approximate age, primary health conditions, living situation (at home alone, at home with spouse, assisted living, etc.), and location by zip code. The zip code is particularly important because it drives localized recommendations throughout the app, including local services, state-specific legal guidance, weather alerts, and nearby facility ratings. You can update all of this information at any time from Care Hub > Profile.

Building a detailed care profile

The more detail you provide in the care profile, the more useful the app becomes. Key fields include: diagnosed conditions (diabetes, dementia, heart failure, etc.), current medications, mobility level (independent, uses walker, wheelchair), cognitive status, daily living needs (bathing assistance, meal preparation), and insurance type (Medicare, Medicaid, VA, private). You do not need to fill in everything at once. Many families start with medications and conditions, then add more details over the first week as they discover features that use that information.

Managing multiple care recipients

If you are caring for more than one person, such as both parents or a parent and an in-law, you can create a separate care circle for each. Switch between them using the circle switcher in the main navigation. Each circle has its own complete set of data: medications, appointments, team members, tasks, and records. The dashboard can show a combined view so you can see what needs attention across all your care circles at once.

Common questions

Can I change the care profile later? Yes, anytime from Care Hub > Profile. Does the care recipient need an account? No, they do not need to use the app at all, though self-managing seniors may want their own account. Can I delete a care circle? Yes, the circle owner can delete it from Settings, but this removes all data permanently, so export your data first if you want to keep records.
