Deleting your account

How to permanently delete your account and all associated data.

Before you delete your account

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. Before proceeding, take these steps: export your data from Settings > Data & Privacy > Export so you retain a copy of all care records, medications, visit logs, and documents. If you are the owner of a care circle, transfer ownership to another member so the circle can continue without you. Notify other care circle members that you plan to delete your account so they are not surprised when your profile disappears. Consider whether logging out and taking a break might serve your needs better than permanent deletion.

What happens when you delete

When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed: your personal profile, login credentials, email address, and phone number; your private journal entries; your notification preferences and settings. If you are the sole member of a care circle, all circle data is also deleted: medications, appointments, visit logs, tasks, vitals, documents, and every other record. If other members remain in the circle, your past contributions (visit logs, completed tasks, observations) stay in the record for continuity of care, but they are disassociated from your identity.

How to delete your account

Go to Settings > Data & Privacy and click "Delete My Account." You will be asked to confirm by typing your email address and acknowledging that the action is permanent and irreversible. This two-step confirmation prevents accidental deletion. After confirmation, account deletion is processed within 24 hours. You will receive a final confirmation email once the deletion is complete. After deletion, you cannot recover the account or any associated data.

Transferring circle ownership first

If you own a care circle and want it to continue after you leave, you must transfer ownership before deleting your account. Go to Family > Members, select the member you want to make the new owner, and choose "Transfer Ownership." The new owner will receive a notification and immediately gain full administrative access. Once ownership is transferred, you can safely delete your account without affecting the circle's data or other members' access.

Alternatives to deletion

If you need a break from caregiving coordination, consider logging out rather than deleting. Your data will be preserved and ready when you return. If notification overload is the issue, adjust your notification preferences in Settings rather than leaving entirely. If you are concerned about cost, Senior Support Resources is free during the current beta period. If you are experiencing a specific problem with the app, contact support at support@seniorsupportresources.com. We may be able to resolve the issue without you needing to lose your care data.
